A multi-department police force concluded an eight month drug investigation that resulted in the arrest of more than 100 people in and around the City of Kingston. Police participating in “Operation Clean Sweep” were divided into 14 teams and assigned targets based on their location, most of which were in the City of Kingston. Transport teams were responsible for delivering the suspect to police headquarters for processing once a suspect was taken into custody. Forty people, many with gang ties, are due in Ulster County Jail Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. The Ulster County district attorney, state police, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, New York City police, Poughkeepsie City police, United States Marshal’s Service, and town police of Ellenville, Plattekill, Lloyd, New Paltz, Saugerties, Ulster, Woodstock and Shandaken all aided in the investigation.
